Dzivielevski Grabs Chip Lead in Rare Postflop Pot

Level 35 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Yuri Dzivielevski
Yuri Dzivielevski

In the previous level, Yuri Dzivielevski raised to 800,000 from the cutoff and Michael Liang defended the big blind after confirming the stack of his opponent.

The flop then came J7A and Liang checked to Dzivielevski, who put out a bet of 450,000. Liang then sneakily check-raised to 1,100,000 and Dzivielevski made the call.

On the 5 turn, Liang shoved all in, covering Dzivielevski's 3,950,000 remaining chips. Dzivielevski snap called and both players' holdings were revealed.

Yuri Dzivielevski: A5
Michael Liang: J7.

Liang had flopped two pair, but Dzivielevski turned a higher two pair. The 10 river did nothing for either player's hand and Dzivielevski doubled up to an eight-figure stack, nearly half of the chips in play.
